Trust is something so much more than telling a lie or cheating on a test. It is something that forms the basis of many of our values, relationships and interactions.
Along with encouraging our kids to learn sports, music and academics, it is the often overwhelming role of a parent to instil core ideas and values, and help define and demonstrate less measurable parts of life like how to trust in ourselves and others.
Luckily, there are social researchers who do the hard yards for us, and this is a thorough, helpful definition of what trust means, and how it fits into our every day lives by Brené Brown.
